The Pioneers of Blackjack
“Blackjack’s Hall of Fame”

All Wagers In

The game Blackjack, like most games, has a great history.  We can’t thank the person who invented the game specifically, for that simply is not known.  We can, however, recognize those that came before us and made history with their achievements, and more precisely, how they inspired us to make the Playing 21 Program

McB Duplin recognized four individuals who definitely belong in our “Blackjack Hall of Fame”.  Each of the four had different inspiring contributions in slightly different areas of the game.  Their theories helped lay the groundwork for the best Blackjack program ever.  We had thoughts of developing a computer program that would prove everything the pioneers said about the game.  The thought of having it all at our finger tips was just to much for us…But the deeper we dug, and the more hands we flipped, the more we realized something was seriously flawed.  Little did we know back then we would find so many contradictions, and end up making bold accusations against the casinos in the gaming industry.

We owe a lot to each one of these gentlemen.  Please take the time to read about Roger Baldwin, Edward Thorp, Julian Braun and Ken Uston.  We also have another area, Other Pioneers and Icons, with those who have made huge contributions to the game, and to the casino industry themselves.  Although they don’t quite rank with the big four for there Blackjack endeavors, they definitely deserve honorable mention.
