No Push 21
“Action On Every Hand”
By Players For Players
It is likely impossible to have a Blackjack variation of the game 21, that is so different, but
yet, affects the odds of the game so subtly you may never notice. This is called No Push 21. It makes total sense to play the game with action on every hand, eliminating the 8% of the game that would normally end in a push.
The game is very simple. It is regular Blackjack, but all pushed hands now get decided, and will be a win or a loss. They don’t truly flip a coin, but they might as well. All pushes go to best poker hand with the following rules in play:
-
Poker Ranking of cards (Ace High, King, Queen….Two low)
-
If both the Player Hand and the Dealer hand push, and have the same poker hand, the winner is decided by suit of high card.
-
Suits Ranks are Spades (high), Heart, Club and Diamond (low).
Examples
-
High valued card wins push – an Ace-9 beats a King-Queen
-
High cards the same, higher second card wins – a King-7 beats a King-4-3
-
Identical hand, goes to suits of High card – King (spades)-Jack (Diamonds) beats a King (Hearts)-Jack (spades)
-
Pair Beats non-pair – a 9-9 beats a Jack-8
-
Higher Pair beats lower pair – a Queen-Queen beats a King-5-5
-
Three of a kind beats pair – 9-5-2-2-2 beats Ten-Ten
-
A Straight or Flush must be 5 cards
-
Player wins push if all cards are the same rank and suit -- King (spades)-Jack (Diamonds) beats a King (spades)-Jack (Diamonds)
-
No “Even” money for Blackjacks
-
All other 21 rules apply
No Push 21 is so very simple when you see it in action. Do something fun next time you play Blackjack, and look at your pushes. You will see a lot of them, but break them in your head and see how well you would have done. You will go, “Would have won that one”, “Lost that one”, all night long. The reason is it is almost a break-even proposition (the actual math says you will lose an extra push every 100 you get, or about every 13 hours of play.) The reason for this is very simple. The casino never splits pairs or doubles down, in turn making slightly – very slightly - better hands in the long run. There is no other difference between playing this and regular Blackjack, none at all. You will still win or lose at the same rate, just every bet is now either won or lost. And we don’t know about you…but we’re here for action and entertainment, not pushes.

How to Play
The dealer plays three separate Blackjack hands.
You bet on the one you think will be the best.
(Players Ante)
To start players would Ante (more on the Ante here)
Shown in the picture below, a player has placed an Ante to join in the game.
The dealer places this Ante in the Ante area and caps it with a special token.

(Dealer Starts Game)
After all players have Anted.
The dealer now places one card face up to each of the 3 Hand areas (shown below)

(Players Bet)
Players would now place a bet equal to their Ante on either Hand 1, Hand 2, or Hand 3
The object is to bet on the Hand that will be the eventual best Blackjack Hand
From our example clearly the Ace in Hand 3 is the best starting Hand
