What Table and Why?
“It Matters, Trust Us.”

Breathe Slowly

The one thing we have noticed over the years is how intimidated people get when they play Blackjack.  People’s stress levels reach new heights, and so many people get crabby and grouchy, even bickering at the cocktail waitress.  There are several reasons for this, and not all can be attributed to the first-time player.

Let’s be honest, Blackjack is a stressful game, even if you aren’t gambling next month’s rent. There is a way to make it pleasurable, and that is the way we will strive to make it for you.

The biggest problem we see is that some players are there to win, and others can’t help but lose.  The players that are there to win don’t like the players who are clueless because they basically don’t know the rules.  What are the “Rules” anyway?  Is this something which the casino handed to you for free, because they want to see you do really well?  Wow, have you been mislead. Don’t worry. So were we.

We do agree however, that some people are much worse than others.  The problem is, no one is playing properly, and there is a reason for this.  Players are unforgiving when they lose money.  This will most often be the case, because casinos aren’t built by people who win (wait—actually they are—rephrase this).  Ok, let me rephrase this, casinos are built by losing players and not winning players (Hmmmmm).

So, even if you play correctly, the game is very tough to beat. By playing incorrectly, you stand zero chance of success.  Many casinos have participated in handing out 10’s of millions of basic play charts, which are a small reference guide for players on how to make the proper winning decisions.  Now maybe, just maybe, the casinos didn’t know *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* that the actual information they were handing out was totally misleading! The players who were using these methods of play as a way to make the winning decisions simply put, lose!  Next time you are at a Blackjack table, be pissed off, but not at the player’s who don’t know how to play.  It is not their fault. They are just taking the casino’s word as correct; and why wouldn’t they?  Nowhere on those charts does it say, “This isn’t the correct way to play.”

Instead of being mad at player’s who do not understand, teach them.  Direct them to our site.  Print off cards from the program and give them a chance to get better.  The other great effect, is that it makes our voice stronger. We can let the industry, and indeed the world, know that what the casinos have done is totally wrong!

Keep In Mind

If you are a regular, much of this is review, unless you would like to know more about the Playing 21 Program.  If you are a newcomer to the game, remember the following before you play.  Just take it easy, have fun, and everything will be great.

Here are a number of things to keep in mind when looking for the right table.  One thing is the actual table limits and how much you plan on spending.  The table limit is the minimum and maximum you must/can wager on each hand you play (and if you want to play two hands per round, most casinos require you double the table minimum).  The limits are usually found on the table to dealer’s right by the discard rack.  In the Playing 21 Program, you can set the amount you wager per hand to reflect any limits you will find in casinos as well as table maximums.  Understand that the less money you have, and the higher the table minimum, the quicker you may lose.  You will also often see the better players, or at least those more serious about winning, sit at tables with higher limits.

A serious player may factor in the kind of shuffler, and the Number of Decks used, but a novice player really need not be too concerned about these variables.   The Playing 21 Program allows you to choose the kind of shuffler, Shuffle Points, and the number of decks you wish to use, so you can mimic the rules of your local casino.

When you decide to sit down and give Blackjack a try, pick a seat in the middle of the table.  This is very important for several reasons.  You do not have to make the first play on each hand, and can get advice from people to your left and right.  Smoke also blows in your face from both directions and we all love smoke in our face.  If you don’t smoke, look for a non-smoking table, or even non-smoking casino.  Again, the Playing 21 Program is a great helper, with great help files on everything you need to know, and although we feel it is a “smoking’” program, it doesn’t blow smoke in your face.  As you get better you can with more confidence move down to third base where often players take a little more heat for their plays from the rest of the table.

Once you have a seat, always ask if you may join in; “Does anyone mind if I get in?”  As a general rule of thumb, unless the dealer is shuffling, never join in without asking first.  Common courtesy is all.  Never sit down and jump in the middle of a shoe.  If you don’t know what a shoe is, it’s the small box the dealer is dealing the cards from.  Most casinos use at most 8 decks, so you don’t have to wait too long. Your politeness and consideration will go a long way.  Make sure the casino is not using continuous shufflers, or the tour bus may be leaving before you play your first hand.

Place your money on the table felt and the dealer will exchange it for casino chips or tokens.  They may ask you, “Would you like any ones with that?” (Ones may be substituted for 5’s and 25’s depending on how much you are playing for)   When you place a wager, put it in the proper area in front of you.  The smaller denomination chips are placed on top of your bet.  This is so shifty players don’t cheat and place chips on their bet when they shouldn’t.  Not something we recommend to anyone.

Always remember, don’t touch the cards (only certain Blackjack games are played that way, and you’ll know it).  Even when splitting and doubling.  Just follow the dealer’s commands, and ask when in doubt.  They are great people making a hard living at times, so be gracious and courteous to them in return.  You can even tip them, by giving them chips or even more fun, playing a token beside your bet and if you win, they win double the tip ($1 tip won drops them $2 in their tip box).  They really appreciate that.  The nicer the service, the more you may tip.  Nothing overboard, but don’t be stingy, you are here for a good time and the dealer can be your best friend at times so treat them well.

Play Anyway You Want

Our Playing 21 Program is without a doubt the best Blackjack program ever made.  Every single question you have about the game is answered very simply for you in our program.  You can set up the rules any way you want, as well as how many players are playing, some good, some bad; whatever you choose.  It will show you, no matter how you played your hand, in the long run, you are not affected by the novice at the table.

You can play Blackjack any way you want.  Remember though, it is a game of mathematics and skill.  Our program will teach you this in a hurry.  If you lose next time you are in the casino, come back and check us out again.  We can prove to you that, for the price of one wager, you can pay for every single answer to anything you have ever asked yourself about Blackjack.

Now, if you have the Playing 21 Program, and someone at the table comments on how you play, let them know about us, and tell them, “I don’t play for the casino”.  That is our call sign.  Enough said.  Anyone who is not playing every hand correctly is playing for the casino.  We don’t play for the casino, and neither should you!
