Why Did We Do it Like This?

It seemed obvious to us that with so much variation on one mathematical game, many people had to be wrong. Who was wrong and who was right was not for us to prove, that’s why we designed the best Blackjack program ever made. It did just that.

We knew we had to convey the information in a way that anyone could understand. We have tried to present it very simply. We asked ourselves if there were hands that were played differently for your preferred counting method? Where exactly did each change? We also needed to know how to play each hand, or how could we ever know which hands we were playing wrong. Did the House Rules, including Number of Decks used, or hitting the Soft 17 affect the way we played certain hands?

All these questions formed but the tip of the iceberg. We spent months laying out the foundation for the program. We knew we had to find these answers, and to clearly present our findings.

DNA

Back when we were in school (Yes, we went to college, both to be police officers believe it or not) the big discovery was called DNA. I think that probably everyone who is reading this has heard of it, and more than likely understands its power. Each and every human has their own (with identical twins being identical). That is fascinating, very hard to fully comprehend.

Well, we knew that Blackjack was exactly the same way. If we knew the House Rules, including Number of Decks and where the Cut Card was placed, there was ONLY one perfect way to play for every single slight variation. After saying that, there are 25 billion different counting methods in the Playing 21 Program, with a perfect way to play for each count. Even considering those amazing numbers, only one of those ways would be “most correct".
