Odds Of The Game Blackjack An Oddity? If you believed every book, every Internet site, every person you play with in casinos, and your best friend, you’d have to really question how casinos stay afloat. It is fascinating how well everyone says they do at the game Blackjack. Everyone wins, especially all these guys with the books. I guess these professionals feel guilty winning all that casino money, so in their spare time away from the tables, they take time to write a book. We have seen a lot of losers in the casinos. Many were even losing tons of money, and yet, everyone you talk to seems to figure they hold their own, breaking even in the long run. So the question to us was, “What the hell were we doing so wrong?” We couldn’t beat
The DedicationOne thing became very clear to us as we were learning the ropes. (and being knocked into them a few times), Quitters never win, and winners never quit. If you had the will, you could find a way. So, after reading what everyone else had said, our approach was different. Sure, we acknowledged what others had said. Of course we did, and why wouldn’t we? The key is we always kept an open mind. For years, we analyzed the game ourselves. We finally realized what we had truly known all along. What we knew, but lacked the confidence to convince ourselves, was that something wasn’t right. We had taken for fact what someone else was selling, even though we never believed it in our gut. We were determined to do one of two things; prove they were right, or prove “we” were right. The game was about to change.
Plain LogicPlain Logic had become the working title of our book draft. We recorded all our ideas, and shared them with the important people in our lives (and our friends within our gambling circles). We were overwhelmed with the response we received. Everyone said, “Wow, you are right!” We knew we had the logic side down pat, but we needed more. We needed the math, the real math, for once and for all. We decided to make the best program ever made on the game Blackjack. If the question could be asked, we’d find the answer. We’ve never done anything half assed, so this had to be the best. Why leave out anything? If it wasn’t going to be the best Blackjack program ever developed, built exactly the way we wanted it, we weren’t going to start it. It had to be the best. We spent a year preparing, and started the Playing 21 Program when we felt it could provide all the answers we wanted. We were indeed going where no one in the history of Blackjack ever has. As development was proceeding, we had the opportunity to meet a great thinker, a new The Biggest SurpriseKnowing the Playing 21 Program was about to give us the exact odds of the game Blackjack, for any way we chose to play, using any House Rules, any Number of Decks, any Number of Players at the table, and for any hand against any dealer up card was exciting (And any combinations of all of those mentioned, plus more!). If we wanted to Count Cards, and vary our betting based on the count, you could say that we nailed it. We did. The program could show us collectively how we did in the Win/Loss Report, and how we did for every single hand.
We had set out to prove Card Counting, as well as some of our other theories. All of a sudden, things totally changed. We stumbled onto a fact whose implications far outreached the initial goal. Not only did we now know everything about the game Blackjack, we had discovered that the casinos haven’t exactly been responsible. It was the biggest surprise of all! Millions Misled
This was a huge find for us. It meant that many authors before us were wrong. It meant many casinos, in an industry supposedly based solely on mathematics and not much else, were either fraudulent, or negligent. These were serious accusations, but we were serious! We felt this was so wrong. It made us sick to our stomachs to know the gaming commissions/jurisdictions were allowing casinos to hand out this information, EVEN after we made them aware of it!!! It clearly told us that the casinos must never have had a program made to simulate their number one money making table game. How could they have and still come up with such radically different results from ours? If they do, have a program(s) about the game Blackjack, we’d love to have a look at them. It only made sense, and we love common sense. If even one casino knew the proper math (and so decisions), honest morals and ethics would dictate that they would have made the entire industry aware that they were misleading their very own customers. It’s hard to swallow, but obviously casinos simply did not know that the information they were handing out was, and is, wrong! If they did know they were handing out misleading information, it was, and is, fraud! If they didn’t know they were misleading their customers, they are negligent. And my God, which is the better answer?! Exactly. Can The Game Be Beat? Were we ever shocked at all the findings. We can't sit here like books before us, and give you the odds of the game. That would be ignorance on our part, to show you in a form, we say, you just can't learn this game in. We can tell you the program proved, that Blackjack as it exists now is a very beatable game. You cannot beat it without card counting however. That much is fact! With card counting as shown by the Win/Loss Report, you can almost count any way you want and still be a winner. The game is more than just beatable. The casinos can't win. The Playing 21 Program proved this. Our next question is one for the historians. Did the program ruin the game as
There is one more thing that can occur. After we sell a million copies and everyone sees anyone can beat the game, millions will find a new found love for the challenge of winning at Blackjack. Maybe not everyone will be disciplined enough to win, making only 10's of thousands of people who kill the casinos and make fortunes from what they learn from the program. Unless millions of players get better, the casinos will continue to win. One thing is for certain, the Playing 21 Program has changed the game forever. It has found every single answer you could ever ask about the game. Now we just have to let history play out.... |

the casino, no matter what we did. The game was too tough. All the books we read certainly didn’t have any positive effect on our bank accounts, but I am sure they did for a few people (authors and casino owners). Here were these writers supposedly making a killing playing the way they preached in their books. They were living the high life. Some of them won so much that the casinos kicked them out, and so they had to wear sunglasses and baseball caps (even dresses?) to disguise themselves. They were making a killing at the game. It was beatable and they had Blackjack figured out. The odds were very clearly in the player’s favor. This was in every book. These authors were mathematicians and computer experts, not just some guy playing hide the pebble in the shells in front of Caesar’s Palace (It’s amazing how quick he moves the shells…well all five in the team are amazing actually). Anyway, according to everything we’ve read, there was no doubt the game is beatable. You just had to spend some time losing before it all fell into place, just as it did for these veterans. What did we expect? Rookies just don’t walk up to the tables and win…no, no, no, no. You had to learn to play, bet, and card count. Hey! We could do this!
It was a good thing that we kept great records of the thousands of hours we had spent analyzing the game. We had flipped 10’s of thousands of hands at the kitchen table, and recorded every single stat we could imagine. Going back over these statistics reinforced many of the initial beliefs and suspicions that we had right from the start. Questions were being asked that we didn’t have answers to.
gaming industry icon. He had a book of his own, and was like a demigod to us. We spoke with him on several occasions, and even met with him in Las Vegas. I guess all things happen for a reason, even when we are the reason they happen. We felt very slighted, and why wouldn’t we, we never had a book, or his title, but as impressive as his title was, he was just another address along Inspiration Boulevard. We were taught to never look down on people unless helping them up. We were also taught by the very best, to be leaders and not followers. Ironic, how the people wishing you nothing but utter failure, are often your greatest inspiration to succeed. We’d be damned if we’d let another person who “knew it all” ever deter us from proving exactly what we suspect he already knew.
In a shocking discovery, we realized that many casinos had been handing out misleading mathematical information,
further helping them at lining their own pockets at the expense of the people learning the game. The guys with all the books didn’t exactly help either. The industry has handed out
we know it today. If the casinos cannot win by the current format,
meaning people play as the program says, the casinos will do one of two things. One is they will alter the rules making it impossible to win. Doing so would have a very negative impact on the game and likely destroy it. The second thing they will do is slowly take the games out of the casinos, again destroying it.
