The problem with too many of the so-called systems on the Internet, is that normal players get in over their head, and can never see them through.  In a perfect world, some systems might actually work for a while, but in the end, to the victor go the spoils, and the player, goes home.  The casinos always win.  Those who have written books and opened Internet sites that say otherwise, usually have their pocket books as their first interest, and not you.

The D’Alembert is a Blackjack betting system.  The premise is to increase the bet by one base unit each time you lose, and decrease it by one unit each time you win.  It is intended to be used in conjunction with odds that are higher than one to one, but that doesn’t really matter in this system.  If a player can play 50-50 vs. the house, he will make a lot of money with this system, especially since the casino gives you the 3 to 2 bonus on Blackjacks.  What you’re supposed to catch here is the “playing 50-50” part…does that happen often to you?

In our example we went 4 wins and 4 losses and we won money.  That is how it works.  The problem, and this is a big problem, is we don’t play 50-50 with the casino.  Everyone has told us we can win at the game Blackjack, and that the game is beatable, in the long run.  Well, if that were the case, every single casino would be broke, because everyone would win millions from the D’Alembert.  Neither of those statements are the case, so something is up.  The casinos also place minimum bets, as well as maximum bets to deter systems like this.  You may have to start this at $10.  Obviously it can climb fast, and you can run out of money if you are not loaded. 

Is The Game Beatable? 

The question that always bothered us was, if the game was beatable, why, when we did exactly as we were told, (and we truly did), did we get our asses kicked?  The only people who made money were the casinos and the guys who wrote the books.  What a great concept.  Bullshit, but what a great concept.
