The Betting Spread
“Spreading Yourself Too Win”

The Method To Our Madness

With all the crap and misleading info that has been shoveled by the gaming industry, there are two things we believe in and have never wavered on.  One is the importance of the betting spread (which we call Wager Variation), and that the spread could make any Blackjack player a winner, no matter how they choose to Count Cards.  The other of course is the Comstock in Reno, and their one-pound New York Steak for $6.99.  We must have eaten there 20 times.  Oh sure, the Sunday Brunch on the top floor of the Flamingo is still the most memorable, but for size and price you just cannot beat the New York Steak at the Comstock.

McB Duplin was as surprised as you may be right now that we actually believe something someone else said.  We still had to make the Playing 21 Program to prove this, but we did believe in the betting spread others before us spoke about in their Blackjack books.  Logically this made sense to us, and we do love logic.  The idea was quite simple, and is shown in the Win/loss Report, in the Playing 21 Program.  If we could win 49% of the time in the long run, was there some counts where we were winning more than 49% of the time.  Logic told us, if there were counts where we were winning much less than 49%, this would be great, because that meant there had to be other counts where we got this back, and so brought our over-all game back up to 49%.  Maybe there were counts where we were actually winning over 50% of the time, and if this was the case, we could bet more at these times, and although we still could never win more than 49% of the hands, we could win more than 49% of the wagers, which could make us a winner.

It sure as hell isn’t that confusing when you see it in action in the Win/Loss Report.  Actually it is very simple.  We have laid it out in a very readable form for all our believers to easily see.

The beautiful thing about this all was, in theory, and although there had to be one best way to Count Cards, this might work for any counting method.  What we are saying is that if a player counted nothing more than the Aces and the Fives for instance, where in that count do you get more wins.  So we cater to everyone, even if you use a very simple count.

Achieving The Results

To illustrate this to the Blackjack world, we designed the Playing 21 Program to allow the player to count cards any way they choose, allowing them to place up to 11 different weights on each of the 10 different cards.  There are over 25 billion different counting methods in the program, a cornucopia for card counters and strategists.

Allowing a player to count cards any way they choose was only the start.  We had to show them how they did by counting like this, and at every count.  In the Win/Loss Report, we break this down to the most useful information ever given the players about Blackjack.  We show you how you did at each and every count after playing your desired number of hands.  Now you clearly see, for your chosen counting method, where your wins and losses are coming from.

Of course now we had to allow you to wager any amount at any count.  Players could now vary the amounts they bet depending on the count, and so bet more when they were winning the most, maximizing their Net Wagers in the end.

This is all just the tip of the iceberg, or the burn card if you will.  Now a player can go into each and every hand they started with, in the Hand Breakdown vs. Dealer Up Card and see exactly how they did on every single possible hand vs. every dealer up card.  The value of this is that now we can show you, and you don’t have to take our word for anything, how to play each and every hand correctly.  By playing all hands mathematically correctly, you could now maximize your overall wins.

In the pioneer days, like the week before the Playing 21 Program came out, everything was “someone else’s word”, and it got so bad that everything was down right confusing.  The casinos loved the fact that you didn’t have the slightest clue what the hell you where doing.  The casinos loved every new Blackjack book with a different twist.  How could there be so many twists?  There is only one mathematically correct way to play every single hand. Everything else is just 100% the wrong way to play.  Sadly, the casinos didn’t help the situation.  They, too, have handed out information proven to be misleading by the Playing 21 Program.  Oh well, they only charge $6.99 for a New York Steak, and you get a potato too!
