Money Management
“The Serious Player”

There’s Managing, And Managing To Lose

Money Management goes hand and hand with success at the game Blackjack. It is a term understood by the most successful of players, and a term unheard of by those who are entertained by donating their money to the casino.  After all, that is what gambling is right?  Losing your money and being happy you did so!

Serious players hate losing.  We hate losing, and we hate the casinos, because the casinos will do everything in their power to see that we lose.  So why would we like them for that?  Why would you do everything in your power to see the casino continues to beat you?  The fact that serious players hate losing bodes well for everything we stand for.  Money management helps the serious player in their betting strategies.  The entire concept is to manage your money in a way that maximizes your winnings, and in turn, assures you lose the least amount possible to the casino.

Casinos win for several reasons.  Of course they have the odds in their favor, but they also have unlimited bankrolls.  The casinos don’t run out of money after a losing streak, and in the long run, always have their mathematical percentages come back around.  They may lose 60% of the next 100 hands, but they seldom will lose 60% of 1,000 hands and never 60% of 10,000 hands.  Reversing this concept is what money management is all about.  Players may lose 60% of 100 hands, but seldom would they ever lose 60% of 1,000 hands, and never 60% of 10,000 hands.  So, everything is going to be closer to the true percentages over a longer period of time, as more and more hands are played.

Going for Broke

Players who take all their money and go for it all in one session are usually the ones who ask for the most comps, like a free breakfast.  They don’t have any money left after losing.  The idea is to stay clear of all or nothing.  If it is all or nothing, you should not be in the casino in the first place.  Ideally you want to have money for multiple sessions, or an unlimited bankroll.

After saying a player wants to have an unlimited bankroll, you are rolling your eyes.  Well of course, who wouldn’t? In 99.99% of the cases, this isn’t being practical or realistic.  So we can all agree that no one has an unlimited bankroll. So what do we do?  We start by working with what we do have.

We have the ability to learn the game, playing each and every single hand mathematically correctly.  If you go by, as many do, those Basic Play Charts the casinos have been handing out by the millions, you have been duped.  They are full of mathematically incorrect decisions, basically the wrong way to play over 5% of the game Blackjack.  If you didn’t know that, you haven’t read through much of this site, because that is something that has pissed us off, and it should piss you off as well.

So if you’re going to play, you should learn the game. Unfortunately, before we came along, there was only mostly misleading information everywhere you turned.  That is not the case anymore.  The Playing 21 Program breaks down every single hand the players could start with in the Hand Breakdown vs. Dealers Up Card section.  So, how do you play a hard 12 versus the Dealers up card of a 3?  Well, with the program, you are only about 4 mouse clicks away from seeing the perfect play, after you run millions of hands.  We also break it down at different counts, and of course in 45 different categories, for each and every starting hand a player can get.  Never in history has it been this clearly shown, and the casinos will hate us for showing it to you.

Learning how to play correctly will help you, no matter how you bet.  Obviously, there is a lot of discipline in betting, especially if you don’t card count.  You need to bet in a way that ensures you can sustain long losing streaks, with the bankroll for that session.  If you did really poorly, you have several other different sessions set aside.  For success, this is your only hope.  Why play to lose…to make the casino happy?

The best methods for betting, if you are not card counting, are ways that very subtly alter your bet, over thousands of hands.  Finding a system that can make you a winner by winning about 45% of the time, spread over those hands is a great way to succeed.  If you are a 21’s Voice member, we will share with you betting systems and money management tips others have shared with us, in our monthly newsletters.  We also have articles from our staff of writers, appearing here in the site.  We cannot stress enough the importance of knowing how to play each and every single hand correctly, which will in turn help you with any money management systems you believe in.
