Winning Streaks
“Back To Back To Back”

The Night To Remember

Every one of us has, at some point in our lives, had nights to remember.  More often than not these nights and great memories weren’t generated in casinos. Usually, most Blackjack players have had more nights they’d like to forget. This isn’t so much negativity as it is the truth. The plain truth is, it is hard to win at the casino, contrary to what the casinos, and all these guys who wrote the books, want you to believe.  McB Duplin wants to make you the best Blackjack player possible, and we are not going to sugar coat the truth.

For those who have played a significant amount of Blackjack, there have been nights, or parts of nights, where they just could not lose…the ever-elusive winning streak. Putting together numerous wins in a row, or more often just being hot, is not uncommon in Blackjack. However, it goes without saying that losing streaks are way more common.

Over the course of 10 hands, anything can happen. Although it is rare, a player can easily win that many in a row.  To go 8-2 over that small amount of hands can happen almost any time you sit down to play for a few hours.  The thing to remember is that the more hands you play, the more this win percentage will diminish. Very seldom will a player ever win 80 of 100 hands, and never would a player win 800 of 1,000 hands played.  It just doesn’t happen.

The reason these long term streaks don’t hold is that the game is so close to being even, and the longer one plays, the more the true mathematical odds will fall into place.  An easy way to think of this is flipping a coin.  The odds dictate that in 10 flips, it should be 5 heads and 5 tails.  It can only vary to 6-4, 7-3, 8-2, 9-1 or 10-0.  So to flip 8 heads in 10 flips is very achievable, but 800 heads in 1,000 flips would be remarkably rare. Blackjack is quite a bit different, because the odds are not 50-50 that you will win the next hand. The casino has a mathematical advantage over the player in the game, making streaks, winning ones anyway, even harder to come about.

What is Normal?

If a player counts cards, we know from the Playing 21 Program, from the Win/Loss Report, where specifically in the count he gets more wins as compared to other counts.  Knowing this, it can be stated that if we get more wins at this count, we are more likely to start a winning streak.  All streaks or good runs, start with winning one hand at some point, and build from there.  So for players who play certain systems where this kind of winning matters, the count may help them, albeit slightly, in predicting a streak.

We wanted to show players this in more detail and are working on this in Version 2. What we will show is how often the player wins and loses each amount of hands consecutively. This will tell us for certain what is normal, percentage wise, for winning and losing the number of hands.  This information will be very useful for certain system players.

Although we have sat through entire shoes where we haven’t lost a hand, players should not base systems on short-term success for long-term gain.  The mathematics of the game dictate this is a bad idea, and will lead to many nightmarish nights.  There is a way to succeed at the game Blackjack, and it starts with finding out how to play each and every hand correctly.  If you play one hand wrong, you can never win that hand back.  These little mistakes all add up, and after 1,000 hands, and things come out in the wash so to speak, you may have had 20 hands that you could have played properly and won.  If you finished those 1,000 hands at 470-530, you have lost 60 base wagers.  Those 20 losses, that we could have showed you how to win, would have meant you could have gone 490-510, only losing 20 base wagers.  Clearly you can see the importance of playing each hand correctly, in turn maximizing your profits while minimizing your losses.

The Playing 21 Program will help improve your winning streaks in the game Blackjack, by helping your overall game.  In the Hand Breakdown vs. Dealer Up Card, we allow you to see any starting hand you had, against any dealers up card.  So if you are not sure how to play your hard 11 against the dealer’s face card, the program will show you how you did, after millions of hands, each time you received that starting hand.  You can set up one player to hit it, and another to double down.  About 4 mouse clicks later, you can compare how these two did head to head, showing you the correct way to play that hand. You must understand that there is a mathematically “most correct” way to play each and every hand. Every other option is costing you money.  Why let the casino have an easer time taking your hard earned money, and giving you sleepless nights, when you can be the best Blackjack player in the entire world, just by having our program and letting it prove everything to you?

Winning streaks are not luck.  Better players, who know how to play each and every hand, will win more, meaning they will have more winning sessions, winning nights, and winning streaks.  The truth of the matter is when you think you have no luck, you really just have less skill than you need to win.
